Laholm Municipality is now seeking a Trade and Business Development Officer for the Business and Destination unit, located under the Municipal Executive Board. As a Trade and Business Development Officer, you will contribute to developing Laholm into an attractive place where business, trade, tourism, and events collaborate. We are looking for a candidate with a focus on both trade and business development – a role that combines strategic development work with operational implementation.
Laholm Municipality is developing positively, with business, trade, tourism, and events contributing together to an attractive and vibrant community. To meet this need, two central functions are now combined into one role: business development with a focus on trade development, and collaboration with the association "Attraktiva Laholm" (Attractive Laholm). Here, shop owners and property owners work together to create good conditions for trade. The role is operational and collaborative, meaning you will work with development issues within business, tourism, and trade, as well as planning and implementing activities. The assignment requires the ability to switch between strategic thinking and practical implementation. You will become an important part of the whole and collaborate closely with both internal functions and external partners.
Responsibilities
You will contribute to strengthening the municipality's business sector, with a particular focus on trade, by working to make Laholm an attractive place for business, visitors, and activities. The role requires an understanding of how to reach the right target group with the right message, how development is planned and coordinated, and how business and trade function in practice. This role suits you if you thrive combining development work, coordination, and practical implementation in a business with many contact points.
Key responsibilities include:
- developing Laholm's business and trade in collaboration with various actors and networks
- participating in collaborations, both internally and externally
- strengthening conditions for businesses within trade and related industries
- initiating and driving collaboration processes
- contributing to the municipality's narrative regarding business, trade, and tourism development
Event Coordination
You will collaborate closely with the trade association "Attraktiva Laholm" for the planning and implementation of activities and events.
- plan, coordinate, and implement events
- collaborate with associations, organizers, and external actors
- coordinate efforts where organizers can receive support, e.g., marketing
- manage logistics, technology, and suppliers
- contribute to simpler permit processes and preparations prior to implementation
- monitor budget, implementation, and results
- support marketing and communication related to events
- be present to ensure implementation during activities and evaluate outcomes
Qualifications
You will be the face of Laholm Municipality towards the business community. Therefore, you are naturally service-oriented, self-initiative, and positive, and are accustomed to collaborating and juggling multiple tasks.
We are looking for you with experience in business and trade development. You have a strong commitment to Laholm's development and a natural ability to build relationships and networks. To succeed in this role, we see that you have:
- an academic education relevant to the assignment
- experience from the business sector and an understanding of its challenges
- experience in business development work, preferably linked to trade development within municipal operations
- experience working strategically and operationally with business issues
- experience in project management and good collaboration between different actors (public and private)
- experience in operational and independent work in complex environments
- Class B driver's license
Knowledge of municipal operations and the political process is meritorious. The work involves evening and weekend work during events or other activities.

Salary: Salary is set based on the candidate's qualifications for the position, with a starting salary from 35,000 SEK for limited experience.
